A service charge is your contribution towards the cost of communal services and for the repair and maintenance of any internal and external common parts. Service charges cover a number of items, which will be specified in your lease. Charges are calculated in line with your lease and cover items that relate directly to your building and estate. Charges are based where possible on previous expenditure and the likely level of expenditure for the coming year.
The charges are reviewed each year, and if they don't fully cover the amount we spend one year, they will go up in the following year to make up for the shortfall. If we collect more money than we spend in one year, we will give you back the surplus by crediting your service charge account.
